Diclomol contains Diclofenac Sodium, a powerful non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with anti-inflammatory, analgesic, anti-rheumatic, and antipyretic properties. It also has mild uricosuric effects.
Diclofenac works by inhibiting prostaglandin biosynthesis, which plays a key role in pain, inflammation, and fever. When taken with or after food, it is rapidly and completely absorbed through the gastrointestinal tract, reaching peak plasma concentration within approximately 2 hours. At therapeutic levels, 99.7% of the drug binds to plasma proteins. It is metabolized in the liver and undergoes first-pass metabolism.

✔️ Diclofenac Gel (Topical Use):

- Cyclosporin: Co-administration may increase nephrotoxicity.

- Gastrointestinal issues: Mild epigastric pain, nausea, diarrhea, or bloating.
- Neurological effects: Dizziness or headache.
- Skin reactions: Rash, eczema, and redness (especially with Diclofenac Gel).
- Peripheral edema: Mild swelling in some cases.
